Ahhhh my car

Well just had the mechanic on the phone..and it was good news and bad news.ugh!!

The good news is that the carburettor is now fixed and she is running better but the bad news is that the clunking noise was a broken spring..aaaaah!! There are also a few other things that need doing, so he suggested I put it through an MOT and see what needs doing that way, but I have to get the spring fixed that I know of. I just hope that I can run her okay enough till next month.

I'm supposed to be going to Coventry the weekend after next, but I am seriously considering putting it off and putting the money into all the repairs so that I can have her fixed by the middle of next month..not sure what to do there. I can afford it at the end of April, but on the other hand I could put all my benefit money into the repairs this month..hmmm decisions.

Anyway I am picking her up at 4pm so will see what the list of repairs is that Bluey has found.

My poor car is in the hospital

Am keeping my fingers crossed that my car gets through the repairs. Had to drop her off at 9am to the mechanic, and as I pulled off my drive there was this awful clunky noise so I think the wheel clunking has got worse :-( But Bluey said he might not be able to fix the clunking noise if it wasnt anything that jumped out at him when he checked her over, as his "boy that can" has unfortunately jacked his job in, leaving him on his own. But he did say he would be able to do the carburettor, so that is a relief. Now I just hope the one we have fits..lol

I have a feeling that all my money this month and next month is going to be spent on getting my little car through her MOT at the end of next month. Oh well never mind, I do still have Daves credit card if I am desperate..lol.

Roll on 2pm then I will know if I have my car back in one piece and repaired or not..!!

OMG I am in love with the US Just Cross Stitch Magazine

Wow, just had delivered the US Just Cross Stitch magazine from Michelle in Amytiville, and all I can say is that I am in love. Its the most gorgeous magazine I have ever seen, and I can see why the poor british stitchers get all excited over getting a copy...lol.

I am seriously considering taking out a yearly subscription as well as getting the two back copies of the JCS Ornament issues that they have on sale on the JCS site.

Aion Season Winter piece for 2005

This is my seasonal winter exchange piece that I stitched for Jo from AION bb. Its an Alma Lynne design and I really enjoyed stitching this.

Musings on the Modern World

  • Tell people you love them, don't think about, just do it.

  • Listen more, talk less.

  • People are what is important, not things.

  • Spend time with those you care about.

  • Demand the best of your self and others and you may get it. Time is too short for 2nd best.

  • Don't say something nasty, because it may be the last thing you ever say or say to that person.

  • Do good deeds and when others thank-you, tell them to pass it forward.

  • Stop and do what feels good to you at least 5 minutes of every day.

  • Don't try to change others, change what you can - yourself - be happy.

  • Live life. It may be the only one you have
  • Ack its nearly 3pm

I cant believe it, where has the day gone, and I am still in pj's;...eeeks. Better go and shower before I do anything else. But I will finish this blog entry first I think.

Well Easter was quiet, I didnt do a lot. Dave went down the railway on Good Friday and Easter Saturday so I took advantage of doing;.....absolutely nothing..lol. I curled up on the sofa and did a bit of stitching and watched t.v. Oh and did give the dog a snuggle :-)

We watched Dr Who on Saturday night. Boy was it good..lol. I cant believe it hasnt had a new series now for over 15 years..gods is it that long ago. It probably doesnt help that I am an addict at watching it on UK Gold at the weekends..lol. Mmmmmm I have decided that I do like Chris Ecclestone playing the Dr, he is so scrummy and really does make the part. Wasnt sure about the burping weelie bins though, that was rather corny..but I think that is what makes Dr Who what it is..:-) I shall be an avid viewer each Saturday evening, that is guaranteed.

Finished off a couple of stitchy things on Sunday and cooked a chilli for tea. We decided to have the roast on Easter Monday. I blitzed the house on the Monday, and decluttered the kitchen and cookery books.

Had a nice visit from my friend Elaine on Easter Monday, and we had a good old girly natter. Put the world to rights and our hubbies too..lol. We jokingly said that if we decided to leave our partners that we would houseshare as we are as both as barmy as each other. Cant believe we met at a bus stop over 18 years ago..we have been best mates ever since. Going through thick and thin with each other. Bless her, I love her to bits and wouldnt be without her as a friend.

Dave cooked the roast lamb Monday, which was nice although I wish he wouldnt give me so much veg, also I wish he would be a bit more imaginative..lol. I cooked a rice pudding which was a change as we hadnt had one of these for ages.

So there you go, my very uneventful weekend..but I did manage to do some stitching on my Aion Heart Sampler SAL, although I am nowhere near where everyone else is..I am going to have to do some major stitching to catch up within the next couple of weeks.

    Off to shower;.

Just testing new offline blogger tool

Well not sure how this will work, have been browsing nearly all morning looking for offline blogger tools. I do like Blogjet, but unfortunately I only have a fortnight left before I have to pay for it....ugh!!!!! So have been nosing around looking to see what I can find. Have come up with this one at the moment and am testing it for the moment.

    I am definately losing it

Image hosted by Photobucket.com I dont believe it, I found my missing pork pie. Yeah I know sad..lol. But I had bought a pork pie from Asda and couldnt find it when I unpackednthe shopping. Well I thought I had left it behind, so a bit miffed but didnt think much of it. Anyway went to move the car this evening off the drive to the road, and what was lying on the front passenger seat? Yep, my missing pork pie. Sadly I had to send it to the dreaded pork pie heaven as it was past it sell by date and I didnt think it would be safe to eat after it had been outside all this time.

Have been watching the sparrows out the front window, on our bush. Its been really lovely watching them flying on and off the bush. Breaking the small branches and carrying them off for their nests. I think they have also been using it as a bonking bush..lol. Certainly a lot of squarking and flapping of wings going on.

A dove even had the audacity to land on the bush and break some branches for its nest..talk about a bit big though. The branches could just about take its weight. Well not only does it use the garden for feeding, it is now using my bush to build its nest. Wonder if I can claim landlords rights..and charge him rent..lol

    I hate Royal Mail

    I hate Royal Mail

I hate Royal Mail I'm not a happy bunny with RM now, three thank you cards I sent to family havent even arrived and I sent them 3 weeks ago, and a coaster I sent beginning of the week hasnt turned up either. I am really getting annoyed with them, as I cant afford to send special delivery every time I mail something. Even RD doesnt get there on time some time.

DH was telling me yesterday that RM have to pay out £5.00 if the letter is 5 days late being delivered, or £10.00 if its 10 days etc.. apparently you have to write in to them and send the envelope as proof and they reimburse you. So no stamps anymore, its real cash. Apparently they have already paid out thousands in compensations cos of this.

Although you dont get compensated for mail that gets lost if you dont have proof of when you posted it.

Oh and there's also a scam that they are even franking the letters when they deliver them if they are late, so it doesnt look bad on RM, but makes out the customer is wrong.

What is it with these boring films on t.v.

OMG Channel 5 has yet another Man from U.N.C.L.E. film on. Ugh!! Couldnt they find something a bit more exciting..lol.

Had an interesting hour watching The Wright Stuff on 5, and I even managed to do half an hour of stitching one of my RR’s. But this film is enough to send anyone to sleep..lol. Or worse send them to do housework. ;-)

Oh well as the weather is sunny, off to hang washing out on the line.

    Dogs and sleep

Grrr, dont they realise that we need our sleep. My darling dog Bear has just come downstairs, scared the living wotsits out of me, and asked to go out. Grrr!! So I let him out then started pacing around the kitchen, and realised I had the munchies. So I have just eaten a buttered hot cross bun and a kitkat. Then the lovely dog decides he is going to wake the neighbourhood up and bark. Bark, since when has he ever barked? That dog doesnt do barking..he whimpers rather than crying..lol. So I let him in and he goes back upstairs to bed.

Omg he is back downstairs again, and has gone to this dog bowl, taken a biscuit out and then taken it upstairs again. Hmmm I think I am going to end up with dog crumbs in the bed when I go up there in a minute.

And I have just realised that the cup of tea DH made me at 10pm (two hours ago) is sitting on the dresser stone cold. I give up, think I will just give up on making a fresh one and go to bed.

Havent done any stitching today, well unless you count three stitches on a coaster as stitching..lol.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better and productive day.

*make mental note to self, check into if I can afford Blogjet, as I really like using this and dont want to miss out after the 30 days trial is up*

    Angels Online

    Angels Online

There's a land where I go when I need to share
that's not on a map, yet exists everywhere.
A land of names without faces, a curious place
A modern creation that's called cyberspace.

There's all sorts of people with cute little names
Like Pookie, and Sandman and Rosebud and Flames.
Some are just snobs and some are real fun.
And some of them just want to find someone.

But both good and bad they all play a role.
Still each one unique, but part of the whole.
We talk and laugh and wonder why.
We flirt and hug and sometimes cry.

We can't be heard and can't be seen.
Yet, there it is, right on our screen.
But all in all the most curious part
Is the power it has to open our heart.

To share with a stranger those things we've concealed
Which to our closest of friends we'd never reveal.
Our deepest regrets and most troubling fears
The scars in our life which bring us to tears.

What gives them the power to reach into me
and show me the truths that I never see.
How do they manage to open my eyes
And make me confess the deceit and the lies.

I don't understand this magical spell.
But I know that without it my life would be.
This must have been planned by the Creator up above.
Cause there's no place on earth where you'll find as much love.

When I need direction I know I can find
those angels from heaven just waiting online

    Happy St Patricks Day..

May the sun shine all day long,
Everything go right and nothing go wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true!

Don't normally do much for St Patricks Day, but thought I would pop this little saying on here as I do really love it.

Not sure about this one, but I do think its quite funny:

May the frost never afflict your spuds.

May the outside leaves of your cabbage always be free of worms.
May the crow never pick your haystack.
And may your donkey always be in foal.

And one last one before I sign off:

May you be poor in misfortune,
    Rich in blessings,
    Slow to make enemies,
    And quick to make friends.
But rich or poor, quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
    From this day forward.

    Midday..ugh

Well its just gone midday here and I have just finished watching the film on Channel 5. I did do half an hour on one of my rotations, but I have a long way to go before I get to the 5hours in total.

I have already got halfway through breaking one of my resolutions for the week. :-( We had takeaway for dinner last night, so no more takeaways this week. Have to cook proper meals now..so its shepherds pie tonight :-)

    Bedtime

I have a cute black cat curled up in my arms making this very difficult to type..lol. She hasnt moved from my arms all evening since Dave went up to bed at 10pm. Aww bless her she is snorting in her sleep..she must be coming out in sympathy with me..lol. I am going to miss this little one when her time comes – I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Maybe its cos she is 18yr in a months time. But she is still sprightly, she can jump up on the table and still eat her munchies, so she has still got some teeth left..lol.

Which reminds me, make an appointment at the vets to get her claws clipped.

Shall try not to scratch too much in bed, seeing as I am now the proud owner of measles. What I thought was a cold is now bloody measles. So thats enforced confinement for a few days so by the end of it I will be pacing around like a caged animal and will be grateful of going out anywhere. Still will get the housework, ironing and washing done – as well as all caught up on my stitching..heheheehe

Oh and a last thought, what is it with me and hot cross buns from Asda? I cant get enough of them for some reason. I think I am addicted..lol.

Oh before I go to bed will quickly write up my resolutions for the week:

    • Stitch at least 2 RR’s
    • Sort out Flylady CJ with new routines
    • Ring my mother and apologise for not ringing her or seeing her last week
    • Write letters that I keep putting off
    • Make a couple of birthday cards for keeping in stock
    • Try not to spend so much time on the computer
    • Stitch on Heart Sampler SAL
    • Try not to have takeaway more than twice this week

And lastly try not to scratch spots too much :-)

    Actually did some stitching..

Wow, I actually sat down and did some stitching while watching SuperVolcano this evening. Miracles upon miracles.

I have even made a card as well, an easter card for my niece.

But I am still feeling like shit..ugh!! I just wish this cold would go away and find another home.

Oh well off to hunt out some food and watch Casanova that I taped earlier, really dont fancy watching Most Haunted Live for some reason. Probably cos it gets boring..lol.

    Few questions..

Have been reading dooce.com best part of the afternoon, and I am still only on 2002. Wow this blog is brilliant.

Have just read about earthquakes in California, and was wondering how on earth standing under a doorframe is going to help you..?

I am sure I will be back writing when I have read the rest of dooce's blog.

    Fascinated with HTML..lol

I wish I had found this ages ago. Didnt realise it was relatively simple to sort out. Now all I have to do is stop tweaking my blog..lol.

    Feeling Bleugh!!

Woke up feeling like shit, still full of cold and no energy. Had a lovely chat with Barbara on the phone, then dragged myself out of bed only to curl up downstairs on the sofa watching t.v.

Now watching Angel, and still in my pj's. Am thinking about showering but thats all I am doing about it..lol.

*note to self - go to drs and pick up prescription and book an appointment for next week*

    So sleepy

After a bad start this morning, where I woke up at 8am with good intentions of getting up and showering, I went back to sleep till 11am. Jumped straight into the shower and good dressed. Then I am afraid I sat on the sofa doing absolutely nothing. I cant even tell you what I watched on tv. as I dont know.

Spoke to Roz on the phone, then decided to play around with some more HTML. Now all I want to do is sleep.

Havent picked up my stitching in two days and I really must do it, I am getting behind.

Think I will have a snooze for an hour or so, then I really must do the washing up otherwise Dave will come home and find nothing done. Still whats new there..

    Nothing and anything

Just sat and watched the new series of Enterprise on Sky, hmmm talk about confusing. I really didnt get it, I knew I should have watched last weeks as it was the repeat of the last series finale. Now I am totally lost on it.

Been feeling crook all day and it looks like a cold is starting to develop..ugh!! So am popping the cold pills quickly before it develops into anything.

    Still playing around with HTML

I am enjoying this - I keep finding new things to add to my blog. I might actually get round to some stitching later..lol.

    Welcome to my Blog

Welcome to my stitching blog, where I will be posting all my stitching exploits, as well as the odd rambling.

Asbestos or not asbestos..that is the question.
