Bleugh day
Having a bit of a bleugh day today, not sure why either.
Stayed in bed all morning with the laptop, the dog curled up next to me and my older cat Barney snuggled down with me too. Thank gods it wasnt too hot otherwise I think I would have definately melted..lol. Finally got up about 1.30ish after Steve (cpn) called me to see how I was doing as I hadnt seen or spoken to him for nearly 4 weeks. Gods he really does wind me up for some reason, I immediately go on the defensive when I talk to him. Anyway I didnt have a lot to tell him apart from FIL and the D and the london bomb blasts, and T dying. He then wanted to know how I was doing so I told him I was fine..which I was sort of. I couldnt explain to him how I was feeling as I dont actually know how I am feeling. We have arranged a meeting next week, and we can go over my sessions with Wendy as I would have had two by then.
Anyway rang D to tell him that steve had rung and he gave me some good news... he is getting his new car on the 30th July so I will be the official owner of his then. Finally it will be all mine..lol. And I dont have to keep getting it out the garage everytime I want to go out..lol. I can even put my bits in it then, so hanging pride of place will be my Pink Dice in honour the Pink Laydees :-)
Stitching wise I actually finished one square on one of the RR's I have so will be posting that off tomorrow :-) Only three more to do then I am up to date, and ready to post them out on posting day next month :-)

Thanks to Whiz, thought I would do this...
You Know You're From Britain When... |
You believe that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all good nights for drinking. Sunday day is also entirely reasonable. Hmmm dont agree with this one at all..not all from Britain are like this.. You're always a half an hour late to work ... no-one notices or cares. Thats usually cos your boss has decided to stop off at Starbucks for a quick cappachino and danish. Coming to work with a hangover is entirely accepted and indeed expected at least once a week. In some places yes, but not all.. You can actually give directions to some of those annoying tourists in Oxford Street! Only cos you have actually been to these places they ask for. You step over a drunk in the tube station rather than offering to help them. Sadly this is true, if you tried to help them you would get a load of abuse from them.. You don't even bother looking out of the window when you get up in the morning to check what the day is like. You know it is overcast .Some days the sun does shine!! You consider a suit to be normal attire for the pub .Only if you work in the West End of London You expect men to actually cut, comb and style their hair (using hair products). And to wear decent clothes. And why not, it doesnt cost much to look nice!! You dissolve in laughter when listening to the funny accent of the Aussie international telephone operator (or on TV!). Ok I admit it, the accent is pretty good!" You think ?40 for a haircut is quite reasonable. £40.00 for a haircut? Wow where is this, last one I paid for was £80.00 You can't remember what 'customer service' means. Thats because shops dont know what it is.. Hookers and the homeless are invisible. Yep, way of life. After a big night out you find yourself looking for a Curry house Or a kebab!! You say "the city" and expect everyone to know which one. I usually call it uptown! Your favourite movie has Hugh Grant in it. Well he is nice!! You can get into a four-hour argument about how to get from Shepherds Bush to Elephant & Castle at 3:30 on the Friday before a long weekend, but can't find Dorset on a map. This is so my DH More than three hours sunlight on summer days seems excessive. It has got better, think its called Global Warming You call an 8' x 10' plot of patchy grass a garden. Well maybe a bit bigger! You're paying ?1,200 a month for a studio the size of a walk-in wardrobe and you think it's a "bargain." And the price keeps going up each month.. You pay ?3 without blinking for a beer that cost the bar 28p Daylight robbery!! You're suspicious of strangers who are actually nice to you. True Somebody speaks to you on the tube and you freak out thinking they are a stalker. They are normally asking for directions anyway! You see All Saints in the Met Bar (again) and find it hard to get excited about it. Or anyone famous really.. You don't think twice about tipping your hairdresser If they do a nice job, then they should be tipped.. You finish every sentence with 'Cheers' or 'Yeah'. Ack only if you live in Essex or London... You only just realise you have lost your sunnies, you left them in Greece 2 summers ago. Well if I had ever been to Greece You like English cuisine. I mean, it's hard to beat a full English breakfast. Mmmmmm eggs and bacon.. You are on to your 6th umbrella and your second overcoat... this year Yep when it rains, it rains. Yet the water companies tell us every summer we are in a drought!! You've bought a disposable baby BBQ from Tesco. Guilty as charged but not Tesco, from Asda :-) A day at the beach means wearing the warmest clothes you own while standing on golf ball-size pebbles and the thought of swimming doesn't even enter your head. Depends what beach!! You always call soccer football and you have a team and it's not Manchester United. Too True You don't think twice about buying a packaged sandwich. There are some gorgeous ones that even I couldnt dream of doing! A sunny lunchtime means searching for a patch of grass and stripping off practically down to your underwear Not where I come from..lol You've accepted queuing as a way of life. Yep, its a boring pastime but something we have always done! You believe that every American is a fatass addicted to hamburgers and hotdogs. This I totally disagree with, this is the power of media for you..grrrr You despise the French (but then, who doesn't?). Well they dont like us either..lol You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Britan. I suppose someone has to.. |
Weekend fun!!
Saturday was a glorious day, but thankfully not too hot weatherwise :) D got up nice and early and did his usual routine of walking Bear and doing the shopping :-) We then went to Homebase and picked up another air conditioning unit :-) Oh boy am I glad we have one in the bedroom and one in the living room now - its actually cool instead of sweltering. So the weather can be as hot as it likes outside cos its beautiful and cool indoors :-)
Anyway back to Saturday, after picking up the A/C unit,we drove to Detling Show Ground where the Kent County Show was. Well after we parked and had to walk what seemed like a blooming mile, actually I think it was a mile..lol. We finally got in to the showground. D was so glad that he had bought the tickets beforehand as the queues to buy them there were horrendous, plus we got a discount for buying early..and D is always looking at ways to save money :-)
So we arrived, and got off to a good start - NOT!! Muggins here had a blooming panic attack as soon as she saw the amount of people inside the showground :-( So after sitting down and downing almost a pint of water I had finally calmed down and we started our day out again..:-)
There was certainly enough to see and do. We popped over to the agricultural section and had a nosey at all the cows, sheep and piglets. I wished I had taken a photo but I had forgotten to renew my batteries in my camera and didnt get new ones till further around the show ground. Typical of me!! Anyway I cooed and aaahed over the animals, chatted to a couple of people and even bought a KYF (Kent Young Farmers) bracelet to support farming in Britain. Next we went for a walk all the way around the ground looking at all the attractions from new cars to a wheelbarrow :) Hey you could even buy a horse box if you wanted..lol Popped into the Food Expo arena, and tried nearly every tidbit going..lol. I did treat myself to some home made fruit pies from Lime Tree Pantry, oooh they are heaven and just melt in the mouth pastry, and just bursting with fruit. They are now safely frozen away in the freezer for puddings :-)
We stopped for lunch which was lovely :) A roasted pork, stuffing and applesauce baguette for me, and a roasted beef and gravy baguette for D. Washed down with some apple juice from one of the stalls. We then sat and watched the brass band playing in the main picnic area for a while :-)
Then went and watched the bloodhounds in the countryside arena. You could even go in the area and pet them. It was sweet to see the kiddies around these huge slobbering animals. One even tried to run off with one of my fruit pies, but got stopped before he got his head too far out the fence..cheeky dog!!
Here's a picture of a couple of them:
Then I dragged Dave off to see the wolves. I had been itching to get to see them all day, and was in my element when we got there. They only had two females there, and they were Timberland wolves. But they were glorious and so docile :-) Sadly they were booked to actually go in and pet them, but I wasnt too worried as I managed to get some good pictures of them...
After drooling over the wolves, we had another look around the stalls we had missed, and then made our way back the mile to fetch the car :-)
It was a lovely day, and the weather was just right. Not too much sun, and just the right amount of breeze.
Although I did manage to get a wee bit sunburnt across my shoulders, on my back along my shoulder blades and down my front a bit. Which I am now paying for dearly as it is a wee bit stiff.. :-(
Sunday was a non eventful day, as we were both knackered from yesterday's jaunt. So we did nothing apart from D walked the dog, I did some ironing and tidied up.

Life...
While not a lot happened during the day, apart from my mother's birthday which I hasten to add she did not acknowledge that I had even sent her anything. So I think that tells you what she thinks about our "mother/daughter" relationship...ZILCH!!!
Anyway we were eating tea and I was watching this programme on BBC1, called "Should I worry about.." and boy did it make me realise. Now I am a takeaway lover, although we aren't obsessive on it to the point where we have to have one each week or even day. We normally have a chinese or fish and chips twice a month. Anyway after watching this programme I am going to have to re-evaluate now whether I actually want to eat takeaways again. What they showed certainly turned my stomach..eww!!! Heck I cant even go for KFC, Harry Ramsdens or a McD's as they were all included in the programme..think its going to have to be salads in future when we have a takeaway or something.
Not a lot has been going on today either, weather is hot as per normal. Although at one point we had a beautiful breeze coming through the house. It was bliss, but I think it disappeared between me getting the washing and putting it in the machine..lol.
I have set the patio set up outside with the parasol, so we can sit under it during the balmy evenings. Just have to get some citronella candles to get rid of those nasty flying bugs!!!
Went to sort the dinner out for tonight, thought I would be a good girl and do it all early, but nope even that plan had a flaw! When I got the courgettes (eggplant to my american friends!) out the fridge some bugger had managed to push them to the back of the fridge and they were frozen solid. Now there is nothing worse than a frozen courgette, especially when it has defrosted - it goes all slimey and yucky!! So I quickly sliced it up and threw it in the pan with the onions, ready to cook later - and keeping fingers crossed that it turns out okay. :-)
Wont be around much tomorrow, we are going to the Kent County Show at Detling, which is a huge show. Its agricultural and rural, with a diverse range of things there, such as selling a lawnmower to cars, horse trials, sheep shows and dog trials. They are having a new entry this year which is wolves..now these I want to see as I absolutely love these animals. For anyone that is interested here is the website: "Kent County Show"
So I will update when I get back, and hopefully will have photos too :-)

Thinking about changing name..
Not quite sure what to though, but I think I like Natty's Ramblings About Life & Stitching, so anyway on that note I was over at "Mommy Matters blog" and saw this great little gizmo "Sloganizer". Its brilliant and totally addictive, so here's a few of what I came up with:
Have a break, have a Natty's Ramblings
Nothing is faster than Natty's Ramblings
Feel good with Natty's Ramblings
Always the real thing, always Natty's Ramblings
Natty's Ramblings, we build smiles
I believe in Natty's Ramblings
Natty's Ramblings wonder
Natty's Ramblings..... whatever you want
You better get inside Natty's Ramblings..
Natty's Ramblings - today and tomorrow.
Wow must stop now, I could go on all night with this sloganizer thingy..lol. Now just to pick an interesting one..or start all over again..lol
Oh and please someone tell me to stop eating plums..they are not good for me when I end up eating 3 or 4 in one go..I have never been to see the porcelain goddess so much :-)
Off to bed now I have totally depressed myself by watching Ally McBeal..

Oooh forgot this..
Last night while I was laying in bed reading, about midnight, there was all these sirens heard and then blue lights went whizzing past the end of the road. Now I must have been half asleep at this point because I was convinced it was a ufo..lol. Yeah I know daft or what!!?? Anyway it wasnt it turned out to be fire engines, and they were going to bowling alley opposite us. Someone had set light to the area's surrounding it..little shits.!! Well I assume it was someone, it might have been the heat that set the grass on light. Anyway they were there till at least 1.30am, and all you could smell was smoke..ugh!! And guess who was hanging out the back bedroom window...yep me!!!!
Anyway after these engines disappeared, I started to settle back down. Only to hear a bloody walky talkie..doh!! A walky talkie in my road..what the?? Ok so off I trot to our bedroom window and there was a white police van parked outside at the end of the road, and policemen wandering up and down the road looking in all the nooks and crannies, then they went down our side alley. Hmmmm hope they were prepared to climb over the woodland to get out the other side.. which they obviously did as I saw them patrolling up and down the alley and round by the derelict garages. Oh gods what on earth was going on..
Anyway I think they finally left about 2.30am. What an evening, and bloody typical the night I go to bed early to read this happens. I knew I should have stayed up...lol
Please let tonight be uneventful, and I might actually stay up tonight instead of going to bed.

I am smarter..
Ok lets try again, as it seems my "stalker" has managed to change their IP address. I was checking my stats on the blog and their old IP address kept coming up sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, one I think there was like 2 hours difference.
Now I know I have regular visitors to my blog, as does any site. But when the same IP address crops up many times during the day, it kind of worries me.
I would love to know what they find so interesting about my blog too, seeing as they have specifically said that they would like nothing to do with me as according to them I am a liar..pot calling the kettle black there I think. So if they dont like me why are they reading this blog. It doesnt make sense...strange one that. Do you think its some kind of morbid curiosity, like a drug addict. They have to have their fix, know what I am getting up to. Really weird!!!
And in case they think I dont know who they are, sorry I do. All I will say is they are from the North of England and are with the same ISP as me. But they will know who I am talking about as soon as they see this..oh wait they cant can they cos they are banned..

Mother's birthday present
Well seeing as it is my mom's birthday tomorrow, and I wasnt sure whether to actually get her anything. Long story so wont complicate matters here..lol
Anyway I was browsing the Argos catalogue for slow cookers the other night and I happened to look in the jewellry section - yeah I know a slow cooker is not jewellry..lol. Anyway while I was browsing I came across this little bracelet -
Anyway I bought it as it is ideal for my mom, what with her being cat mad and all that, and yeah a little mad too. So this bracelet has cat charms and skeleton fish charms on, which I thought was cute.
So we will see what the lady I suppose I should call my mother, thinks of it. Hey I might even get a phone call, although bearing in mind we havent spoken to each other since April and she doesnt ring me I might be holding out for a miracle.
Will keep you informed.

Blimey what a turnup for the books - bomb blastings update
Well it seems that the police are closer to knowing who did the blastings in London on 07.07.05.
It turns out that they were suicide bombers, but british, of pakistan descent. My heat goes out to the Muslim contingency around Britain now, as they are going to be a target because of the stupidity of four deranged men, that were unfortunately muslim.
Please say this is the end of it now, and that there wont be any more bombings, or they step up the bombing campaign. We will slowly get back to how we were when the country was in the grip of the IRA, not knowing whether a bomb was going to go off under a car, in a train, in a station or a shopping centre. This I dont want to live like again. My heart always used to jump everytime I heard there was a suspicious package when D was coming home, and the fact he survived the IRA threats but these bastards injured him in a mindless attack on London. I dont wan tthis again, no way.
What did they think they were going to achieve anyway, was it to open the publics eye on the Muslim contingency, cause uproar against them, make the muslims become a target of hatred..well it seems they have achieved that..gods forbid.
I hope the police find the bastard behind the whole thing, and crucify him.

Mondays questions...
1. What book are you currently reading?
The Baby Trail by Sinead Moriarty
2. Have you ever experienced the loss of a pet? How did you deal with it? Would you get a new pet, and why?
Yes I have lost my cat Fred, that I had with me when I settled into my first flat at the age of 18. She died about 6 years later. She was a big black feral cat, and she was her own boss. She didnt like OH and would often sit between us when we were sitting on the sofa together. Unfortunately she died while we were on holiday so we didnt really deal with it I suppose. I did get another cat though as my other cat Barney would have started to pine. Sadly Pebbles, the new cat, didnt survive for very long and died at 6 months old. Thsi was a bit sad as we think she had been hit by a car not far from where we lived. We waited about three months before getting Smudge, my younger cat, because Barney did actually start to go off her food and was very verbal and kept looking for Pebbles. Then a couple of years ago my beloved dog Patch died of old age - 18yrs. I didnt deal with this either I suppose, because within three days I had already got Scruffy, my totally daft 3yr old fox hound, who is the light of my life.
3. Is anyone in your family in the armed services?
No we dont have anyone in the forces.
4. If you have or have had a boyfriend, did you tell your parents about him without them prying for the information?
Yes I did keep one of my boyfriends from my parents, because they thought he was a bad influence. The funny thing is we had known each other since junior school and it was almost a natural progression to start going out when we were 14yrs. We had been through junior and senior school together. But I knew if I told them I was seeing him they wouldnt be too happy. Sadly the relationship failed when my best mate started going out with him.
5. What was your favorite childhood pet and tell me a few things about it.
My favourite childhood pet was my Patchy. He was a beared collie, and we had him as a puppy when I was three. He was like my best mate. I used to push him around in my dolls pram, and dress him up in my dolls clothes. One time I covered him in talc and even cut his eyebrows off..:-) We even used to share the dog biscuits together. Yep me and Patchy were the best of buddies.
6. Have you ever been in love?
Yes I fell in love with someone who was very dear to me 5 years ago, sadly we arent together anymore..and he isnt my husband either... I realised at the time that it was pure love and that I hadnt experienced anything like it before, and doubt I will ever again. I will always love this person to my dying day.
7. What's your favorite activity?
Well I have several, cooking, reading, cross stitch..
The Baby Trail by Sinead Moriarty

Another hot day..
The weather here is glorious, but thankfully there is a breeze. Either that or its a very large bird nesting in the tree outside my window and blowing my net curtains inwards :-)
D has gone to work today, although he was a bit achy. I have had an email to say he was okay, but there was another bomb alert on route to work, which thankfully didnt affect him. Gods what is it with these people do they think its fun to disrupt life by making false calls on bombs etc..
Oooh I am happy, I found the radio station that I used to listen to when I was in Chester, has the facility to listen to it online. Woohoo!! So this morning I was bouncing around to "Dee 106.3" It certainly brought back memories of when I used to listen to the radio while driving around Chester during the 4 and a half years that I was with J. I think my neighbours might have been wondering why the radio was advertising events in Chester and the surrounding area..lol. Never mind!!
M rang earlier, he finally got through to me after he said I was a difficult person to get hold of. We had a lovely laugh over the phone about the weather, the image of him riding a bicycle to work, what his kids had got up to over the weekend etc.
Well as I have to wait in this afternoon, for the plumber, I am going to do some stitching on my RR's.

Well after the previous few days events all is calming down here now..thank gods.
The only major development we have had here is that the bloody toilet has broken..grrr!! Had to get an emergency plumber out tonight :-( Thank gods for insurance companies!
Unfortunately he couldnt fix it, so we have to flush the toilet by throwing a bucket of water down it..ewww!! Very good when we have company, oh well can't be helped I suppose. Thankfully it is being fixed Monday afternoon :-)
My parcels from Ebay have all arrived now, lots of lovely Just Cross Stitch mags :-) Not so good, D realised that I was using his credit card for Ebay..oops!! Still I think he was still too woozy to complain as he never uttered a word.. :-)
Goals for next week:
Stitch up the RR's I have, well at least make a start on them.
Send an email to my SS
Package up bits for my SS
Make a start on Michelle's new home picture (better late than never!!)
Do some more stitching on Exchange
I am sure there is more but for the life of me I cant remember.

Terrible couple of days..
Well where do I start? The last 36 hours have been a nightmare.
Yesterday at midday I got a phonecall from my MIL to say that she was in hospital at Ashford. They had been on the coach travelling to Canterbury from Eastbourne and were halfway when my FIL slumped over and suddenly went very cold and clammy. Thankfully they had a retired nurse on the coach with them and she took one look at him and called the emergency services. My FIL was rushed to hospital, where he was still unconcious on arrival. He had apparently had a stroke :-(
So I had to get OH to get home from London as quick as he could, I drove to Ashford to meet his train and then we drove to the hospital.
Well it turns out he has had a stroke, his left side is affected and his speech is slurred. But thankfully he is alive.
We eventually got home .
Then today OH went into work as normal, even though I said to him that I didnt want him to go. Gods I wished he had stayed at home!! Anyway he went in as normal.
Well when I get home I have a couple of messages from OH to tell me that I was not to worry but there had been an explosion at Aldgate station and he was wounded but okay. Errr wounded!!!!!!!!!! My god my worst nightmare has come true!!
I put the news on and wish to gods I hadnt, the capital has ground to a halt!! There had been several explosions at underground stations. And Aldgate was one of them :-(
Anyway DH came home eventually, and boy was I relieved to see him. I have never been so glad to see my husband as I was tonight. He is okay and I am just thankful he is alive.
Then later this evening we get a phonecall to say that DH's cousin has lost her battle with leukiemia, after fighting it for so many years it finally claimed her. She didnt die alone thankfully, her eldest son Carl (who is 18yrs) was with her. Sadly her husband Steve couldnt get there in time to say goodbye. Which is so sad. But as was said on the phone they had been prepared for it for a fair while, and it was really just a matter of time.
I am in shock as to what has happened the last couple of days. They say these things happen in threes but gods surely not like this.
Tonight I offered up a prayer to the goddess that my family has been kept safe and that she will guide Tina safely to the summerlands.
*Tomorrow is another day as they say!*

Hmmmm another week, another dollar!!!
Well D has gone back to work today after his weeks holiday, and I am actually missing having him around. :-( I think that is a massive step in the right direction, considering previous holidays where he has been at home I have been itching for him to get back to work, and cant wait to get rid of him.
I think Smudge is missing him too, for some reason. She keeps walking up to where he would sit and have his breakfast and put her paws on the cushion and then look at me and meow. Strange cat.!!!
Bear is doing his usual "let me sleep" routine. That dog definately doesnt do mornings bless him. It must have been a shock to him when D got up at 5am, he hasnt been getting up till 9am all last week so Bear has had a lovely lay in. Now he has a rude awakening at an ungodly hour...lol.
Barney is just being Barney, and sleeping everywhere. I dont think she even realises anything has changed..bless her.!!
Had a major disaster yesterday. I have lost my RR piece for the WOCS RR that I am in. I was sorting out things yesterday to post today and this was one of them. And do you think I can find it..nope!! I have looked absolutely everywhere, turfed the house upside down and inside out and it is nowhere to be found. Thankfully it is my piece so it isnt too much a disaster as I can stitch a quick border and blocks on another piece of Aida to send out tomorrow. I'm just majorly miffed, as I normally keep it with my other stitching and for some unknown reason I obviously didnt. Now I have no idea why in my infinite wisdom, I decided to put this somewhere else..so somewhere else I cant find it...lol. Whats the betting that as soon as I stitch another piece and send it off, the original piece will turn up...humph!!
Not a lot planned today, have got a couple of RR's that need doing so shall do a bit of housework then settle down to the stitching...hopefully I can find something decent on t.v. If not I think I will put the original War of The Worlds cd on and listen to that while stitching. :-)

Playing with Haloscan
Ignore - am just setting up Haloscan, so I've lost all comments. But they will be back within the next 24 hours, just have to wait for Haloscan to reinstall them from Bloggar. More money off poor DH's credit card..lol.
Very relaxed day yesterday :-)
I am ashamed to say we did nothing all day except watch the Live8 concert on t.v. till gone 11pm. Yep was a bad girl..lol. Did go to the post office and do the food shopping in the morning, but we both decided that we were going to be slobs and watch the concert from 1pm till it finished in the evening.
My opinion on the concert, for what its worth, was that it was rather slow during the day and only livened up when Robbie Williams came on late in the evening. I was a happy bunny though as I got to see Scissor Sisters perform but I thought the crowd wasnt exactly showing willing. Talk about asleep..I reakon they werent quite sure who was who amongst the performers..lol.
Then guess what? I discovered the live feed on BBCi rather late on in the evening, so was flicking back through the concerts around the world. Well I wish I had found this earlier on, it would have meant I didnt have to sit through the crass groups. The Philadelphia concert was good too, quite enjoyed Maroon 5 and Sarah McCloughlan. We caught some weird act in Paris - it was an opera couple but they weren't exactly dressed for opera..it was definately odd!!! But dont ask me the name of the couple as I have absolutely no idea who they were..lol.
Did get myself wound up over something but calmed down after a lot of support from some good friends online, so wont let that bother me anymore.
So in a nutshell that was my very exciting Saturday :-) Didnt even do any stitching, which I really must do today after the boring jobs of housework are done.

Ack therapy.......
Ok after yesterday's therapy session I wasnt really up to posting on my blog, so I am updating now.
Well lets just say Wendy is not on my christmas list at the moment..lol. She's a bully, and knows how to get stuff out of me. :-(
Yesterday we went over breathing techniques..whoppee doo I thought. But believe it or not I was amazed at how much I hadnt been breathing properly. This only came about cos everytime something was mentioned that I didnt like Wendy gave me "permission" to breathe..lol. Didnt realise how much I was holding my breath in. I'm still not happy with the start of therapy because if this session was hard then what the heck are the ones further on going to be like. Anyway we went over the "game plan" so to speak, and we have to do it like a jigsaw - fill in the outside edges before we tackle the inside bits. So I have to learn how to look after myself before we do anything.
I also learnt that I had been abusing myself without realising it. Because when I self harm the marks can be seen I have found another way of self harming, a way that no-one can see. And that is by not eating properly and not drinking correctly either. How the hell did Wendy figure this out I have absolutely no idea but she managed to get it out of me. I had to admit to her that I had only been having a yogurt or cereal for breakfast and then not eating till teatime, and then only picking at my meal. And the drinking I wasnt doing was doing me a lot of harm - especially in the last couple of weeks where it has been so hot. I havent been putting the fluids back in. I have been lucky if I have been drinking 3 cups of tea a day..:-(
We also agreed that where I had been having therapy with Eddie all those years ago, I hadnt actually prepared myself mentally and physically to tackle my issues. And because I couldnt handle it I just collapsed under the pressure and retreated into my little world where no-one could hurt me. And unfortunately I was unable to keep the barriers up anymore and I was getting hurt more and more, and I couldnt control the situations I was in so I just broke down again and got worse mentally. Hence the reason we need to build up the coping mechanisms before we tackle any major issues that we are going to be addressing.
So my goals for the next week are to drink at least 2ltrs of water a day and to practice my breathing 4 or 5 times a day. And I also had to promise not to harm myself this week.
Well so far I havent harmed myself - I have had cereal for breakfast, a couple of tomatoes for lunch with cherries, and a small piece of lasagna for dinner. Its a start, not a big one but definately a start. I havent managed to keep to my goal of drinking water or breathing. I shall try and make a better effort tomorrow.
So now we are on the long road of therapy, for approximately 12 mths...shorter if I make good progress.
